Frozen Outdoor Spigot

The spigot pictured here froze and broke as a result of freezing temperatures during a cold snap this winter. Even though water was going out, it was also coming into the home and caused significant damage. To keep this from happening to you, you should:

• Make sure you are up to date on the weather using an app on your phone that will alert you to freezing weather
• Make sure that for the winter, you detach the hose
• Make sure if you are leaving home for more than 3 days that you turn off the water.
