Industrial Hygienists Help Find Hidden Mold

Water that is trapped in wall cavities, under flooring, and under cabinets can lead to mildew like odors that are difficult to pinpoint the point of origin.  In this particular home, a pipe had broken in the wall, slowly leaking water for several months.  The water traveled throughout a substantial amount of the home behind walls, under laminate flooring, and under cabinets making it difficult to find the source once the problem areas made themselves evident showing signs of microbial growth.  To avoid blindly tearing out walls and cabinets and flooring, a licensed industrial hygienist came out to take air quality samples for testing.  The results from the test samples give the IH the information needed to write a remediation protocol for SERVPRO to focus on the correct areas.
