How Do We Handle Water Damage?

After you give us a call, the first thing that we do is work with you to learn exactly what happened to your property. The scope of the damage is assessed by a SERVPRO professional on sight, and this information is then used to determine how to best remove storm damage and bring your property back to pre-disaster condition.

In the case of water issues, this means water extraction, followed by drying and dehumidification. All restorable items and structures which have been damaged are then cleaned and sanitized. Finally, we close everything off with our restoration process. This process includes:

• Minor/major repairs
• Replacing drywall
• Installing new carpet
• Etc

What Should You Do Until We Arrive?

No matter how fast we are (and we’re pretty fast), it’ll still take a bit of time to reach your property. You’ll have a few minutes until we arrive, but that doesn’t mean you have to sit and stress the whole time. We’ve developed a guide for water damage emergency tips.

The simplest thing you can do is start to remove excess water. You can do this by using a mop or some towels. Something else which will be extremely useful is to remove loose items from floors- especially if they’re electronic. Try to keep electronics as far away from the water as possible, but don’t put yourself in danger. Better to have ruined electronics and be safe than for a much worse scenario!
